X-Ray of Fractured Front Leg
EVH has a portable digital x-ray machine that is available for use on the farm as well as for hospital appointments. The ability to take and review radiographs minutes after horse examination allows the veterinarian to pinpoint diagnosis and tailor a treatment plan based on your horse’s needs – often at a single visit. Please call the office to schedule an appointment!

Ultrasound of 31 Day Pregnancy
Each veterinarian has a portable ultrasound machine in their veterinary unit at all times. Ultrasound examination is used widely for reproduction (breeding soundness evaluations, heat cycle evaluations, and pregnancy checks). Ultrasonography is also used to examine soft tissue structures in equine limbs as well as other soft tissue structures within the horse. For example, with a tendon or ligament injury; we can pinpoint the problem area and assess the extent of the damage to determine a more specific treatment plan. Follow-up ultrasounds can then be completed to check progress.
Endoscopic Picture of Horse Larynx
Endoscopes are long flexible cameras that allow direct visualization of certain inaccessible areas of the body. Our video endoscopy system allows the image to be displayed on a TV screen. All endoscopic exams are recorded so follow-up exams can be compared. EVH has 2 different size scopes: a one meter scope, which permits evaluation of the upper respiratory tract (including the pharynx, larynx, guttural pouches and trachea); and also a 3 meter scope that is used to examine the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum. Endoscopy is an essential part of the evaluation of horses with poor performance, upper airway obstructions, abnormal respiratory noises, many lung diseases, and gastric (stomach) ulcers. The endoscopy unit is portable and can be brought to your farm via trailer (Weather Permitting).
